Welcome to Brookhaven
Brookhaven was developed in 1910 as Atlanta’s first country club neighborhood. It is in Dekalb County, located directly north of Buckhead. Sandy Springs is direct to the west, Chamblee is to the northeast, and I-285 is to the north. Brookhaven is an elegant enclave of large Tudor, Colonial, Georgian, and English cottage homes. Peachtree and Peachtree-Dunwoody roads provide easy access, as does the Brookhaven MARTA rail station. Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza offer luxurious shopping less than a mile away.
Popular communities include Historic Brookhaven, Ashford Park and Drew Valley (either side of Dresden), Oglethorpe Estates, The Park at Oglethorpe, Lynwood Park, Sexton Woods, Silver Lake Estates, Brookhaven Heights, Brookhaven Fields, Pine Hills, and Hillsdale.
Driving down Dresden shows you just how much this area is growing in popularity, as well as the population! Village Place Brookhaven has been booming with all commercial spaces filling up. Verde Taqueria for lunch and J Christophers for breakfast are always full of people enjoying the neighborhood restaurants. Library Coffee Co. is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee on the patio, a wine tasting event, and a popular business meeting spot with its large tables and open spaces. Next door, Kaleidoscope has just opened as a new area restaurant and bar with a large open outdoor patio. Haven and Valenza are two popular restaurants that have been there and endured the test of time with creative menus and a wonderful atmosphere. Natural Body Spa is here as well as many boutiques for both home goods and attire.
Around the corner on Peachtree where North Druid meets Peachtree in Brookhaven, you have the trio of restaurants and outdoor patios including Mellow Mushroom, Pub 71, and Hudson Grill Sports Bar. A new coffee shop called ‘The Sugar Shack’ offers a great meeting spot for coffee or lunch.
Sembler, one of the country’s top developers, has created an enormous new shopping village called ‘Town Brookhaven’ off Peachtree in Brookhaven, just south of Oglethorpe University. Almost complete is a 54,000 square foot hybrid Publix, a new innovative version with extended delis, bakeries, and an in-house wine sommelier! Currently open are Costco, Noche (great indoor-outdoor patio and just like the Va Highlands one!), a sports bar/restaurant in the back. LA Fitness is located here as well.
Bordering Chamblee, you have easy access to the Whole Foods shopping center, Lowe’s hardware, and a Walmart nearby.
If you want to go commercial on your coffee, you can always find a Starbucks for your latte or Dunkin Donuts for your daily grind or flatbread breakfast sandwich! The Kroger is here too with a popular sushi restaurant next door and a Chin-Chin there as well for your Chinese food area fix.
Brookhaven's golf courses are two golf courses: The Capital City Club and Peachtree Golf Club (linked on the side). Homes surrounding the Capital City Club are anywhere from 800,000 to 4,000,000. Ashford Park, Lynwood Park, and both Oglethorpe Communities are all areas where builders are doing the ‘tear down & rebuild’. Renovations going on throughout this popular area.
