The City of Milton has plans to create the District at Mayfield within the Crabapple area, which will include properties off Broadwell Road, Charlotte Drive, Mayfield Road and Mid Broadwell Road. The District at Mayfield would encompass 22 parcels spread over 17.83 acres. No proposed rezoning of properties within this District would take place. Instead, a new concept plan would be created to ensure consistency, quality and cohesiveness. Amendments to City Code could impact guidelines related to the exteriors of new buildings and outside modifications to existing ones within the selected area. While keeping in sync with the rest of downtown Crabapple, there will be even stricter development regulations to conform with this area’s unique character. If you currently own property in this area, a moratorium has been enacted for the City’s acceptance of applications for significant exterior changes. Definitive plans and decisions will be made by Spring 2023.
