Fall is officially here in Georgia, and if you’re anything like us, this is one of the most magical times of the year. The air is crisp, the leaves are turning, and our weekends are packed with apple picking, pumpkin patches, and cozy family traditions.
As real estate professionals, and moms, we spend a lot of time exploring Metro Atlanta’s communities, not just to help clients find their dream homes but also to enjoy everything this area has to offer with our own families. Whether you’re new to Georgia or a lifelong local, here are some of our favorite places to soak up the season and make unforgettable fall memories:
Scottsdale Farm – Milton, GA
📍 15639 Birmingham Hwy | 📅 Sept 20 – Nov 2
This is a local gem for quick fall fun and décor shopping. Scottsdale Farm is beautiful all year round, but especially in the fall; think pumpkins, mums, and charming photo ops everywhere you look. It’s a great stop after a morning of showings or on a weekday afternoon.
Warbington Farms – Cumming, GA
📍 5555 Crow Rd | 📅 Now – Nov 2
Warbington Farms is known for its gorgeous sunflower fields, pumpkin patch, and family-friendly activities. Admission is around $15.75, and kids under 3 are free. It’s a great spot for those classic fall family photos.
Big Springs Farm – Woodstock, GA
📍 2100 Sugar Pike Rd | 📅 Sept 27 – Oct 26, 2025
This is one of our go-to pumpkin patches, especially for younger kids. Big Springs Farm is relaxed, pet-friendly, and open on weekends with a simple pay-per-activity setup. It’s perfect for an easy afternoon of pumpkin picking, hayrides, and family photos.
Cagle Dairy Farm – Canton, GA

Cagle Dairy Farm is fall festival heaven. Think corn mazes, tractor rides, bonfires, marshmallow roasting, and plenty of wide-open space for kids to run around. Weekends often feature extended evening hours, making it a great option for a family night out.
BJ Reece Orchards – Ellijay, GA

If apple picking is on your fall bucket list, BJ Reece is a must. This popular North Georgia orchard has something for everyone; apples, farm animals, zip lines, wagon rides, and a bakery that smells like heaven. Pro tip: arrive early on weekends to beat the crowds!
Burt’s Pumpkin Farm – Dawsonville, GA

Burt’s is practically a Georgia fall landmark. With thousands of pumpkins in every size, scenic hayrides, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to sip hot cider all day, it’s a family tradition for so many locals.

Hillcrest has all the classic orchard activities—apple picking, wagon rides, farm animals—and their fried apple pies are legendary. It’s open daily and runs later into the season than most, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a less crowded weekday adventure.
Mercier Orchards – Blue Ridge, GA
📍 8660 Blue Ridge Drive | 📅 Seasonal – Call for exact dates
Mercier is worth the drive. Nestled in the mountains, this orchard offers breathtaking views, apple cider donuts, and a charming market. We love making a day of it with a scenic drive through Blue Ridge afterwards.
R A Orchards – Ellijay, GA
📍 5505 GA-52 | 📅 Sept & Oct
This orchard has a more relaxed, family-run vibe—ideal for those who want a quieter experience. The apple picking is wonderful, and it’s a hidden gem for those looking to avoid the big crowds.
Red Apple Barn – Ellijay, GA

Another family favorite for apple picking and wagon rides. Red Apple Barn has a cozy, nostalgic feel, and their baked goods are always a hit with our kids.
Southern Belle Farms – McDonough, GA
📍 1658 Turner Church Rd | 📅 Sept 20 – Nov 2
Southern Belle Farms is like stepping into a fall festival postcard — corn mazes, pig races, pumpkin patches, and fresh homemade treats. It’s a bit of a drive from the north side, but absolutely worth it for a full day of family fun.
🍁 A Few Mom-to-Mom Tips:
Plan ahead for crowds. The most popular spots can get busy on weekends, so early mornings or weekdays are your best bet.
Dress in layers. Georgia fall mornings can be chilly, but afternoons warm up fast.
Bring snacks & wipes. Trust us- between apple orchards and pumpkin patches, someone’s hands will get sticky.
Check each farm’s website before heading out for weather updates, activity changes, and pricing.
Make it a tradition. Visiting these spots year after year is one of the best ways to build lasting family memories.
Fall is one of the best seasons to live in Georgia, and exploring these local gems is a big part of what makes our communities so special.
